I've owned at one time 4 different Match conditioned M1A's- all SA Inc- all shot and bedded fine. If I were doing a match build I would probably go out of my way and spend the extra money to get a Fulton receiver.Sure, to each is own. I've even seen the two at different angles, so you only get good engagement on one cam. Then the trigger group doesn't cam into them correctly. It should be cheaper to buy used. The only issue I've run into with Springfield receivers is the little arms can be at the wrong angle, so they don't sit in the stock like they should, especially if you're using like a Sage chassis or something. If it really bothers you, find an older SA M1A with more USGI parts. Buy M14 M1A 10 Round Magazine - New, Springfield Armory: GunBroker is the largest seller of Rifle Magazines & Rifle Clips Rifle Parts Gun Parts All. shooting with a friend last week, he was shooting a full-USGI M1 Garand, extractor broke, it happens. If a part breaks, replace it, just like any other rifle. (The quality had to do with the BUILDER, not the receiver name). Likewise, the SA's built up to be good Match rifles, like any other. I used to compete with a M1A back in the day.…….had a commercial trigger group in it, kept meaning to switch it out to a USGI. You won't notice a difference in the receiver nor the USGI vs Commercial parts in use. The 2 issues people get spun up about are the receiver (billet vs forged) and USGI parts content (vs commercial). Yes, Springfield Inc has gone to more commercial parts, but they are still a good rifle. Though the past few years that cost difference has narrowed. They can sometimes be found cheaper than the more common commercially made M1As and M14s. Some of the smaller parts may need replacing with USGI. They are perfectly serviceable weapons, in some ways superior to the commercially made ones. I do have, in addition to the one JRA receivered M14, 3 Chinese made Polytech M14S rifles. I do have a JRA M14 receiver that I finished out with USGI parts. I have no experience with most of the others. Though, many will box it up and ship it back to Springfield to let them deal with it. It's a simple repair, and most people with Springfield M1As get some USGI extractors and keep as spare, JIC. LRB being first in line to produce hammer forged M14 clone receivers, of top quality, were able to charge what they wanted for a reasonable profit. When that happens, the extractor spring and plunger usually disappear too. Being the owner of 7 LRB's and a couple dozen Bula's I can tell you the big difference, with mine, is the left lug on the LRB's require slightly more bolt fitting than Bula's. Springfield's cast extractors are known for breaking, or launching into low Earth orbit. Their receivers are no longer to true USGI spec, and sometimes there are problems when trying to mount a scope.

Due to the numbers that are sold, Springfield sometimes has issues with Quality Control. I'm not getting into the cast vs forged debate.

As was stated, they have a lifetime warranty. Springfield M1As are decent, and the most prolific.
